Cozy Back-to-School Decor for Your Homeschool Space
Make your homeschool space cozy with this adorable back-to-school cottagecore decor banner.
There is a special kind of magic in the air as a new homeschool year approaches. The fresh stack of books, unsharpened pencils, and the quiet anticipation of all the wonderful things your family will learn together.
While curriculum and schedules are important, I feel creating a warm, inviting learning space sets the tone for the entire year. You don’t need an elaborate setup or an expensive budget to make your learning environment feel special!
To help you celebrate the start of your new learning adventure, I created a Free Printable “Back to Homeschool” Banner. Designed with a sweet, cottagecore aesthetic—think soft gingham, cozy florals, and gentle pastel patterns—it adds an instant touch of warmth and charm to any homeschool corner, dining room, or morning basket space.

How to Assemble Your Banner in 4 Simple Steps
This is such a quick and joyful project to pull together (and a fun one for your kids to help with!).
What You’ll Need:
- Heavy cardstock paper
- Scissors
- A hole puncher
- String, twine, or ribbon
- Optional: Laminator or self-adhesive laminating sheets
Easy Step-by-Step:
- Print: Print the banner pages onto sturdy white cardstock.
- Cut & Laminate (Optional): Carefully cut along the outer edges of each pennant flag. If you want your banner to last for years to come, run the pennants through a laminator before cutting!
- Punch Holes: Use a single hole puncher to create holes on the top left and top right corners of each flag (guidelines are provided on each page).
- String & Style: Thread your favorite string through the holes!

Customization Ideas: Make It Your Own!
The best part about printable banners is how easy they are to customize to fit your unique style:
- Jute Twine: Use rustic natural jute twine for an organic, farmhouse-cottage feel.
- Velvet or Satin Ribbons: Thread soft sage green, dusty rose, or cream ribbon through the flags to elevate the look.
- Ribbon Tassels: Tie small scraps of leftover lace, fabric, or yarn between each pennant flag for a whimsical, layered aesthetic.
- Wooden Clothespins: Instead of punching holes, clip the flags directly onto a string of twine using mini wooden clothespins!
