Why This Protein Smoothie Is a Perfect Homeschool Day Snack
I love smoothies, especially in the warmer months. They are easy to make, and you can truly get creative with the flavors by switching up the ingredients.
My kids also love smoothies and often request them! They are a great homeschool day snack, easy and quick to make, and the protein makes them a filling option for littles.
For this delicious smoothie, I was focused on getting a high-protein result while keeping it tasty.
I prefer frozen fruit instead of ice in my smoothie; it gives it a creaminess that can’t be beaten while keeping it cold.
The combination of blueberry and banana is always a winner in my book, but you can try strawberries or cherries!
I love this Orgain Simple plant-based protein for the protein powder. It is sweetened only with coconut sugar and contains clean and healthy ingredients. I have also been loving Clean Simple Eats Vegan Vanilla protein.
Use whatever protein powder you have on hand, or don’t use it at all. It’s totally up to you, however, if you omit the protein powder, then the total amount of protein in the smoothie will be less.

Tips For Adding Protein
A good portion of the protein content comes from egg whites, which are tasteless in the smoothie, providing about 7g of protein.
Are you skeptical about the egg whites? I was, too, at first. Just try it with one Tbsp to start. If you are all-in on the egg whites, then feel free to add more for even additional protein.
If you are looking to increase your healthy fat intake, I recommend adding some avocado, which will also enhance the creaminess.
For a healthy dose of greens, include a handful of spinach!
