Notes

I prep this the night before, right before bed I set my crockpot to low for 10 hours and let cook overnight.
The texture almost resembles a bread pudding or French toast casserole but the flavor is a delicious French Toast.
I like the top part nice and crispy so I only cover the bread about half – 3/4 of the bread with the egg mixture. It will absorb the liquid and still have flavor but won’t get as soft.
The butter and sugar on top are optional but they help to get that caramelized crispy part that makes this dish so tasty!
